Audio-Visual Integration Technician

Job Summary
The Audio-Visual Integration Technician is tasked with: (1) installing and terminating cables; (2) comprehending cable layouts and installation processes; (3) setting up equipment and wall rack systems by interpreting wiring diagrams; and (4) configuring proprietary equipment to meet the needs of Grey Atlantic LLC’s OEM clients.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Follow Grey Atlantic LLC’s Mission, Vision, and Values in all work activities.
Collaborate with team members and leadership to deliver exceptional customer service.
Prepare and maintain accurate daily reports, project photographs, time logs, and status updates for ongoing projects.
Track and manage repair and replacement part inventory, including documenting serial and model numbers.
Organize, label, route, cut, and terminate cables.
Set up, configure, and oversee video routers and switches.
Install and position cameras as required.
Diagnose and resolve issues with complex audio-video systems for clients.
Mount and arrange displays of different sizes, including wall-mounted panels.
Recognize and work with various cable types, such as SVID, Composite, RBGHV, CAT 5, CAT 6, SDI, Fiber, HDMI, and DVI.
Configure and program a variety of equipment.
Ensure all projects are completed to a high standard and align with the defined project scopes.
Take on additional responsibilities as directed by the Manager


Specific Job Knowledge, Skill, and Ability
-Skilled in using voltage meters, soldering tools, tone generators, multimeters, cable toners, cable stripping tools, and network testing devices.
-Capable of organizing and managing rack systems.
-Able to read, analyze, and effectively communicate information from ceiling plans, elevation drawings, and room layouts.
-Competent in identifying and understanding different types of source plates.
-Familiar with fundamental concepts of AC and DC voltage.
--Experienced in utilizing Microsoft Office applications and navigating various web-based platforms.
Comfortable working in confined areas such as ceiling access panels, closets, and interstitial spaces.
-Quick to adapt to and learn new computer applications and proficient in handling mobile devices.
-Demonstrates sound judgment and escalates issues promptly and appropriately.
-Capable of addressing sensitive questions or concerns with professionalism and effectiveness.
 

Qualification Standards
Education: High School Diploma, technical trade school, or equivalent.

Experience
Minimum of two years of experience in an audio-video integration technical environment.

Mathematical Skills
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Physical Requirements/Working Environment
The primary work setting for this position is an indoor medical environment, with 100% travel necessary to access various project sites. Employees exposed to potentially hazardous conditions are required to adhere to all safety regulations and wear the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

This role may involve working in both indoor and outdoor environments, with potential exposure to loud noise levels that may require raised voices for communication. Workers could encounter hazards such as proximity to moving machinery, vehicles, electrical currents, scaffolding or elevated work areas, high temperatures, or chemicals. The position may also involve exposure to vibrations affecting the entire body or specific extremities.

The job requires strong visual focus for tasks such as data analysis, transcribing, working with computer screens, and extensive reading.

Compensation and Benefits
- $30.00 - $35.00 based on experience.
